Zubdat al-Tafsir is an abridgment of the book "Fath al-Qadir al-Jami' bayna Fanni al-Dirayah wal-Riwayah min 'Ilm al-Tafsir" by al-Shawkani. The author typically summarized it to a single interpretation for each verse, limited the different readings (qira'at) to the one corresponding to the recitation of Hafs, and extracted from the knowledge-based section the essence of the narrations he compiles at the end of his research.
