The Zamioculcas zamiifolia, native to Eastern Africa, shares traits with ferns, cycas, and succulents. Its upright stem bears dark green leaves and typically does not flower outside its native habitat.
Ideal for beginners or those seeking a low-maintenance indoor plant, the Zamia is known for its resilience in various environments. It's a popular choice for homes and workspaces due to its aesthetic appeal and minimal care requirements.
Care Instructions
Thrives in shaded areas with bright, filtered light, and can also be placed in low-light rooms such as bedrooms. It tolerates temperatures from 15°C to 18°C and can withstand up to 35°C indoors. The plant is drought-tolerant but should not be neglected for extended periods, as this can weaken the stems and cause leaf drop. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Fertilize monthly during summer. The plant can grow up to 120 cm in height.
Propagation
Easily propagated by dividing the plant into sections, especially as it grows larger. Leaf cuttings can also be placed in soil to develop roots and produce a new plant, though this method is slow.
