At the beginning of each academic year, the Faculty of Arts and Design at Philadelphia University fulfills its promise to the community of researchers and intellectuals by publishing the papers of the Philadelphia International Conference, concluded in one or two volumes. This is done after the papers have been distinguished, reviewed, and edited according to established scientific principles.
It goes without saying that the conference volumes have become a reference in contemporary Arab culture, consulted by researchers, critics, and intellectuals as an intellectual record rich with engagement, debate, and rigorous practical, realistic, and rational approaches. The Faculty of Arts and Design at Philadelphia University has uniquely, through this conference, tackled the map of "Arab History and Modern Thought Curricula" — past, present, and future. It has boldly examined the coordinates of this map politically, economically, socially, and culturally, a feat for which it will be remembered, as this uniqueness comes at the peak of turbulent transformations in the Arab world.
It is no exaggeration to say that many of the conference papers have achieved their intended goal of foreseeing the future, with its positives and negatives. A tribute to all the researchers who enriched this conference with their wealth of ideas, and thanks to all the committee members who worked day and night for its success. We hope that at Philadelphia University, through the Faculty of Arts and Design and its international conference, we have fulfilled our cultural and enlightening role on the path to the desired second Arab renaissance.
