This book is the first and only reference of its kind that discusses the intelligence methods and techniques in the Ottoman Empire. Its information was gathered from Ottoman and Turkish sources due to its complete absence in the Arabic language. It is well-known that when Sultan Abdul Hamid II was deposed, all files and archives related to Ottoman intelligence and information were burned. Consequently, there is a significant gap in Ottoman history regarding this specific topic. This work took two years to compile all available information related to intelligence from its inception until the establishment of the Yıldız Agency, which was developed by Sultan Abdul Hamid II. This agency was of great importance in the survival and continuation of the Ottoman Empire for more than 33 years after it was on the verge of collapse.
