In the past, as a child, I thought life was merely details. I grew up a little, shed some naivety, and much foolishness, to discover that life is rhythms. The rhythm of water is profound; when it stagnates, it drowns its surroundings in the plains of pleasure and delight. When it flows, it sweeps away and overflows across day and night. The wind has its rhythm; when it softly blows, it refreshes the heart, but when it storms, the seas are agitated. Earth absorbs things to recreate them anew, so they bloom. Later, I discovered that fire is my fiery, rebellious rhythm, my dear, just like me. Life’s rhythm needs all rhythms combined into one unparalleled melody.
