The obligation for the sons of the Islamic call—and preachers in particular—is to know the history of their community, to distinguish between those who were loyal and those who betrayed. It is crucial to understand how the nation reached this state of humiliation. A dark history of betrayal spans kings, presidents, ministers, intellectuals, poets, among many others. The community as a whole, except those whom Allah has protected, has not been free from negligence, corruption in belief, abandonment of the Sunnah, following desires, love for the worldly life over the hereafter, disrespecting scholars, and indulging in sins, tyranny, and disgrace. Allah, the Most High, said: "And so We make some of the wrongdoers allies of others for what they used to earn." (Al-An'am: 129). The book "Waqsah" was penned by a sincere hand filled with zeal for the religion and its people. Its author fearlessly exposes those who have betrayed Allah, His Messenger, the religion, and the believers, speaking the truth as a duty to his Lord and a counsel to his community, while exposing the hypocrites even if it upsets them. It is authored by the honorable Sheikh Sayed bin Hussein Al-Affani, whom we hold in high regard while not commending anyone over Allah.
