Rutin is a natural plant pigment found in fruits and vegetables, particularly in citrus pulp and peels, apple peels, buckwheat, and black tea. Other sources include cranberries, berries, asparagus, and the fruit of the Fava Danta tree in Brazil. Sometimes referred to as "Vitamin B," despite not being an actual vitamin.

Rutin is a bioflavonoid antioxidant. Antioxidants help protect cells from free radicals, which are unstable molecules resulting from metabolism, UV sun exposure, smoke, and chemicals. Free radicals attack healthy cells, damaging their structure and harming normal cellular function.
