Shams al-Din Ahmed al-Aflaki, in the year 718 AH, authored the book ‘Virtues of the Gnostics’ at the request of his sheikh Shalabi Faridun bin Baha al-Din Muhammad bin Jalal al-Din Muhammad al-Mawlawi.
