The book 'Uyun al-Majalis' on advanced jurisprudential differences, by the Imam of the Maliki school in Iraq, Judge Abu Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab ibn Nasr al-Baghdadi (d. 422 AH), is an abridgment of the book 'Uyun al-Adillah fi Masa'il al-Khilaf bayn Fuqaha' al-Ummah' by his teacher, Judge Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Umar al-Baghdadi, known as Ibn al-Qassar (d. 398 AH). It is a precious work in comparative advanced jurisprudential differences. Unfortunately, it has not reached us in its entirety, as only fragments have been preserved in some libraries. It is a fortunate occurrence that this abridgment has reached us complete, through which Judge Abd al-Wahhab preserved the opinions and jurisprudential preferences of Ibn al-Qassar. Judge Abd al-Wahhab generally maintained the order of the original topics, starting from issues of purity, then the book of prayer, up to matters of bequests, which is the last book in the abridgment. He stated in its last issue: 'I have compiled them—the issues of the book—in this part to make them easier to memorize and find for anyone seeking a specific issue from it, and for anyone who wants to memorize the school of thought only.'
