In our opinion, Arabic educational literature still lacks a reference book that addresses the theoretical and practical aspects of the concept of total quality in education. It presents related concepts such as academic accreditation and reviews practical models and real-world applications of these concepts, which is where the idea for this book originated.

In light of the above, the main objectives of this book are as follows:

  • To discuss the concepts and ideas related to total quality, attempting to precisely define terms that may vary in literature, and clarifying the key differences in the use of a single term across different fields such as economics, industry, and education.
  • To present the most important contemporary global trends in the field of total quality, focusing on the foundations, standards, and specifications used to apply this concept or to judge its implementation within an educational institution.
  • To explain the Islamic origins of total quality and compare this concept in Islamic culture, as found in the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), with its prevalence in Western writings and foreign literature.
  • To showcase significant international and Arab experiences in total quality in education, discussing the steps for developing total quality projects in various Western and Arab countries at both general and higher education levels.

The need for this last objective is particularly clear, as many questions arise in the field of education about the methods and effects of applying the concept of total quality. Implementing new ideas in the education sector can be met with both acceptance and resistance, as educational institutions are known for being among the most stable and change-resistant societal bodies. This makes practical models and real-world experiences from the Arab educational landscape powerful testaments to the possibility of turning abstract ideas into tangible realities, hopes into facts, and constants into variables.

The book is divided into two main parts:
Part One: Foundations and Concepts, which includes six chapters.
Part Two: Models and Applications, which includes five chapters.
