The author of the book, Mahmoud Al-Masry, was born in Cairo, Egypt, to a religiously observant Egyptian family. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Helwan University and studied all Islamic sciences under Egyptian scholars. He then traveled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he received knowledge from scholars of theology and Islamic da'wah. He obtained an ijazah (scholarly license) in the Six Books (of Hadith) and all Islamic sciences from Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Muqaddim. Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Masry was awarded an honorary doctorate with honors in human development from the American University.
