About the Book:

"This Day in History" is a daily newspaper column written by Najdat Fathi Safwat over five years, in which he discussed a significant historical event that occurred on that specific day of the year, or the biography of a historical figure. In the first volume, we read about the founder of the Scout movement, Lord Baden-Powell, the establishment of the League of Nations, Wilson's Fourteen Points, the "Butcher of Libya," and the witty Sheikh Tantawi Jawhari who nominated himself for the Nobel Prize, along with other fascinating and useful encyclopedic information.

This work consists of 12 volumes, which will be released sequentially.

About the Author:

Najdat Fathi Safwat (1923–2013) was an Iraqi diplomat and writer. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Baghdad and continued his studies at the University of London. He has authored hundreds of articles and studies in various Arab newspapers and magazines in Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, and Britain.
