On a hill overlooking the banks of the Tigris River, our old neighborhood was located. Old houses with walls of plaster and stone, worn down by time. Cracks and salinity painted maps and terrains without landmarks or titles on its crumbling walls. It was truly a fertile ground for cockroaches, mice, scorpions, rats, snakes, hedgehogs, and lizards.
