The importance of Bakhtin's term 'dialogism' lies not in his description of the multiplicity of voices and characters in a novel, nor in the interplay of ideologies, events, and facts, or the negation of pure identities. Instead, this dialogism is distinguished by the underlying driving motives that can be identified in two fundamental issues: the issue of liberation that rejects closure and rupture, and the intimate call to urge the formation of harmonies between the different to become unified, and between the contradictory to become dialogical in an atmosphere of understanding, acceptance, and familiarity.
The impact of these two issues on the life of contemporary man—governed by coercion, confiscation, violence, contradictions, and conflict—is evident. Therefore, modern individuals are in dire need of the art and thought of dialogism to form harmony and the resulting peace, familiarity, and feelings of love and security.
The example of the dialogism of arts and the enriching, harmonious aesthetic overlap is decisive proof of the ability of human beings, as creators of art, to form human harmonies and spread love and familiarity in human society, if only rulers, tyrants, and monopolists would cease their selfishness, the sowing of pretextual hatred, killing, and destruction to perpetuate their seats of power and the ruin, sabotage, and shameful harvests they conceal behind their glitter.
