This study relied on the descriptive-analytical method in light of narrative approaches concerned with discourse and character structure. Although it represents examples from the Omani novel, its subject and methodology make it a foundational study and an introduction to similar studies on the Arabic novel, its narrative discourse, relationships, and patterns. The author believes that the character is the cornerstone of the novel and the foundation of its structure, as it represents movement and the development of the plot. According to him, the character is 'a world built by language,' from which references to place, time, events, and language levels are formed. The importance of the character lies in its formation of the event and its transformations.
