Dashia removed her clothes in her clean, tidy room, took the comb out of her hair, shook her head until the hairpins flew off immediately, slipped into her white bed, pulled the cover up to her chin, squinted her eyes, and said to herself: “Thank God, everything is fine! Now I have nothing to worry about, so let me sleep.”
She imagined a funny little face before her. She smiled, slightly bent her knees, and wrapped the pillow. She was surrounded by a delightful dark slumber, and immediately Katia's voice resonated clearly in her memory: “Not true, of course.” Dashia opened her eyes, “I didn’t say a word to Katia. I just asked her: true or not true. She answered me as if she completely understood the subject of the conversation.”
The consciousness pricked her entire body like needles: “Katia deceived me!” After remembering every detail of the conversation, Katia's words, and gestures, she clearly saw that there was indeed a deception. Dashia felt a shock. Katia had betrayed her husband, but after committing her betrayal, her sin, and her lies, she became more charming. Only a blind person could not notice something new in her, a complete tenderness with a special flavor. She lies in a way that captivates and entices love. But she is guilty. I don’t understand anything, I don’t understand. Dashia was anxious and confused.
