About the Book

  • "Without a doubt, this book will not go unnoticed in the Saudi literary scene." (Regarding his novel "Absurdity") - Al-Hayat Newspaper

Synopsis

The faces of the villagers are not what they used to be; sadness has taken over their features. The land is afflicted with drought, hunger, and a lack of rain. Some residents left everything behind and headed to the city. Others remained in the afflicted village, patient and trusting in God. Every morning, they go out and sit on the roads, listening to each other's talk, with despair in their eyes. Suddenly, Saeed Al-Nakhhal, a fifty-year-old man dressed in wealthy attire, appears to exploit people's needs and buy their lands at cheap prices, taking over the village. Only Sheikh Marzouq, known for his integrity and honesty, stands up to the cunningly devised plans, trying to convince the residents not to sell their lands.
