Reception theory constituted an attempt to study the literary text through an integrated system concerned with the creative process in its three parts: the creator, the text, and the reader. This theory reached modern and contemporary Arab criticism, much like other critical theories and cognitive concepts. Some Arab critics argued that a literal transfer of reception theory might not be generally beneficial, as it negates some important cultural phenomena in certain societies. A series of general attempts, in which Arab critics received the aesthetic of "aesthetic value" in new criticism, focused on rhetorical aspects, form and its analysis, and some humanistic aspects, while the approach had not yet shed its contextual perspective. These attempts resulted in the establishment of clear methodological features. Thus, aesthetic value and new criticism manifested in vision and methodology, and were embraced by Arab critics. They also began to emerge more clearly in subsequent critical milestones throughout the development of contemporary Arab criticism.
