Who am I? I am one whom the harsh years have trifled with, whose waves have broken in the expanse of life, then cast his pieces upon the shore as a forgotten trace. The spinal mast on my back is now without the nerve ropes to tighten the sail of my will. I am scattered wreckage, unable to rebuild myself, and there is no visible or hidden force to pull me out, help me, or restore me. What I have received from those whose hearts took pity on me is a call for beautiful patience, tears upon my wreckage, and a sad description of the storm, the wave, and my remains.

About the Author: Hassan Fayyad Ismail, from Zawtar Al-Sharqiyya – South Lebanon. He studies history and political science. He is a playwright and storyteller, and his works include: The Poor, The Separate Pronouns, and The Theatrical.
