I have always stood at this spot, watching the sunset as it honors the eternal city. The ancient Bedouins called it "Moab" because they believed the sun returns here each day. In those moments before dark, one truly feels in the presence of a majestic, calm, and world-embracing entity.

However, as I dwelled in that divine realm, I asked myself: What are cities? What is the relationship between place and human? The answer was that cities are merely their people. A house without its inhabitants is desolation. Humans animate places and imbue them with grandeur. If love must exist, let it enhance the beloved, and if pride is necessary, let it stem from one's true self. Otherwise, glorifying cities, stones, and homelands is folly without benefit.
