...The plot of the novel is structured within the framework of a documentary narrative, drawing from a collection of replicas, manuscripts, diaries, and audio recordings. Yet, this setup serves merely as an artistic deceit, for the novel indeed possesses a cohesive narrative structure. Despite this documentary aspect being woven into the fabric of the fictional world, the story shifts swiftly from archeological concerns to purely psychological ones. The author suggests that 'mind parasites' reside in the human brain, undermining mental abilities and pushing individuals toward madness and suicide. Thus, the protagonists engage in a lengthy and intricate battle against these invisible 'mind parasites' employing various strategies, such as influencing political and military leaders to instigate harmful wars. This war eventually escalates between two military forces, driven by the activity of the mind parasites, culminating in their eradication. Even though the novel concludes with a relative success achieved by the protagonists, who are among the elite of human intellect, it takes a new path ending with the loss of the spaceship carrying the main characters, leaving behind challenging and complex questions.
