An excerpt from the book: "No heart rejoices in the darkness, and the eye that sees the pains of the day is companioned by blindness. And the country that abandons the country for years of ash, famine, and Job. Job here came from the voice of my bereaved mother, from the drowsiness of tired labor and the noon's quarrel with despair. And Job was the one who shouted: The horizon is an abyss, and if only a star would guide my way, I will sing to this night until the end of the night. I will sing to this night, and I will dance like the blind. Yes: I will dance like the blind in the darkness."
