It was not my intention to write about this journey, whose primary goal and some details will become clear to the reader in the following chapters. Instead, during my stay in Istanbul, specifically twenty-five days after my arrival in that captivating city, I felt I had something worth recording—not about the place itself, but about my journey to it. The desire to write about this trip was born by chance while I was strolling in Gülhane Park in Istanbul and received a WhatsApp message from a Spanish friend. His message stirred emotions that sent me back to my hotel room, where I began to write down the feelings of sadness that overcame me that day. Therefore, the first chapter I wrote in this book was the ninth, where I narrate the story of that literary inspiration that could not be postponed, despite the beauty of nature in the enchanting park. (I believe my preoccupation with a translation I had been assigned two weeks before my trip was the main reason the spark of writing remained dormant under the ashes and its seed was buried for a while).
