The social structure of Arab Muslims in Jordan is no different from that of their Christian partners in Jordanian history, geography, and customs. Both Christians and Muslims belong to Arab tribes whose origins predate Islam. Sect or religion was not the only system defining relations between Christians and Muslims; rather, it was tribal and clan customs. These Christian segments of the population are connected by alliances and traditions found in every Jordanian town with a Christian presence. As for ethnic groups such as the Chechens, Circassians, Kurds, Armenians, and others, they have integrated into Jordanian society and its general culture, which emphasizes preserving customs, traditions, and general cultural norms. They have also integrated at all levels following the transformation of the state's production model.
