The authors have based this book on the topics prescribed in various university education programs such as a Bachelor's degree in various educational sciences, Teacher Preparation Diploma, and the Higher Diploma in Educational Administration, and for those interested in knowing and studying various educational systems including the Jordanian educational system. The book consists of twelve study units: The first unit discusses an introduction to education, the second unit examines the educational system in general, the third presents the historical development of education in Jordan, while the fourth unit discusses the philosophy of education in Jordan, the fifth unit presents educational stages in Jordan (education ladder), the sixth unit examines non-formal education in Jordan, while the seventh unit presents educational administration in Jordan, the eighth unit deals with curricula and exams in Jordan, the ninth unit discusses counseling and guidance in Jordan, the tenth unit is dedicated to introducing higher education in Jordan, while the eleventh unit presents the most prominent changes, reforms, and renewals in the Jordanian educational system throughout its historical stages, and the final twelfth unit discusses the future of education in Jordan: cultural particularities, national achievements, and global trends. While the subject of this book is not new, and there are many efforts by fellow researchers to introduce the Jordanian educational system, the methodology followed in the composition of this book was new. The book units were composed by presenting the expected outcomes to be achieved by the students, then providing a global educational theoretical framework for the topic of the unit in light of sustainable development and the fourth industrial revolution and its various manifestations, then the past and present of the topic in Jordan, and discussing complementary aspects of the proposed topic, ending the unit with discussion questions and the most important references used in composing that unit. Moreover, reliance was made on official documents from the Jordanian Ministry of Education and recent references, in addition to the diverse experiences of the authoring team. The authors hope that this book will be useful to students in various educational programs and contribute to introducing the Jordanian educational system.
