About the Book

The Ismailis are spread as religious minorities in more than twenty-five countries, with most recognizing the Aga Khan as their spiritual leader. About the Author

Farhad Daftary is the Co-Director and Head of the Department of Academic Research and Publications at The Institute of Ismaili Studies in London. His publications include "The Assassin Legends: Myths of the Isma'ilis," "A Short History of the Ismailis," "Ismaili Literature: A Bibliography of Sources and Studies," and "The Ismailis in Medieval Muslim Societies." Dar Al Saqi has published his works "Intellectual Traditions in Islam" and "The Ismailis in Medieval Societies." His books have been translated into Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Urdu, and several European languages.
