The family of the Prophet, peace be upon him, holds a high status and many virtues are affirmed through the Quran and Sunnah. The Prophet advised regarding them by saying: "I remind you of Allah with regard to my household, I remind you of Allah with regard to my household, I remind you of Allah with regard to my household." Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, stated: "Remember Allah, remember His fear and vengeance if you neglect the rights of the family, and remember His mercy and reward if you fulfill their rights. We love them due to their relationship with the Messenger of Allah and their faith in Allah. If they disbelieve, we do not love them even if they are relatives of the Messenger, peace be upon him. Abu Lahab, the uncle of the Prophet, peace be upon him, should not be loved under any circumstances due to his disbelief and harm against the Prophet."
