Mohammed Erikat did not write a tragedy—because in a tragedy, the hero dies. But the heroes of the novel "The Hidden Walls" return, in a distorted and unsettling way. It is neither a tragedy nor a drama. Instead, it is the painful Palestinian exodus from another angle. We can say that "exodus" is the most accurate description for a work of this kind. I tried to identify which school this novel belongs to, and I found none other than the school of the late writer Ghassan Kanafani... a school that any young writer would be honored to belong to.
