Schools are filled with many students from all categories, including gifted students with disabilities, but we do not know who they are or which category they fall under. The lack of specialists in public schools for their early detection makes identifying this group of students a matter that requires extensive knowledge. This category of individuals with special needs requires more attention to draw the focus of educators and parents to the fact that some gifted students may have learning disabilities that hinder their academic progress, or some students with learning disabilities may have overlooked talents. This is considered an educational waste that needs ways to invest the energies and mental abilities of this group of students.

It is worth noting that research and studies have shown that gifted students with learning disabilities "are students with above-average intelligence, yet they are unable to perform academic skills at the levels expected of them."
