Poetry, in its essence, is not born from defeat or the defeated, but is the twin of a soul that rejects defeat, soaring to its absolute human potential with pride. When one makes defeat their home, they can only see its grim walls, but poetry always exists outside these walls, for it is a child of life.

This is how the poet Ibrahim Nasrallah expresses the importance of poetry, its role in life, and its connection to humanity—especially the Palestinian people, who are in constant search of a stolen homeland. The poet has embraced the dream of every Palestinian, expressing through his poems the groans of sad hearts and the cries of bereaved souls at the jailer's doorstep. In 'The General's Crisis,' he says: “Oh soldier, the equation of prison is utterly strange! Here is the desert, guard dogs, the loneliness of a wild wolf, and death just a step away. Yet I saw the prisoner singing here... while the prisons are bleak!”

This is how poetry gently seeps in to sweep through the hidden depths of the soul, awakening hope to illuminate the deep darkness, and compelling one to emerge, sing for life, and strive to achieve their grand dream.
