It was thought that when people die, they transform into something. This is an ancient human belief passed down by poets and sages. Even though it is an old thought, it remains unaltered through the centuries. Despite no one being able to prove it, it holds tremendous significance. Centuries have passed it down tirelessly. For instance, the American poet Walt Whitman said that the dead become grass. People memorized these lines, but American novelist Michael Cunningham, a fan of Whitman, wrote in his novel "The Hours" that there is no grass where Simon, a character, was buried. Where, then, is the grass? Graves are everywhere, yet nobody has seen the dead transform into anything else. Families await their return every moment as if they were martyrs. Some feel that the dead are still with them, never leaving even for a moment, just becoming invisible. This is death if we want to summarize and speak with depth and faith.
