Saeed the Cat performs a comedic scene that calms the dormitory:
(Here comes the cat. He takes a quarter of the cognac. Boghos doesn't pass the bottle until he gets its price. The cat hands him a coin. Boghos gives him two piastres back.
– Three, Boghos.
Boghos replies:
– Return the bottle, then get your piastre.
The cat swirls the glass in his mouth, takes a deep breath, shakes his head, and puffs joyfully.
– Diesel... Take the bottle, Boghos, keep the piastre. Give me a pickle with it.
The cat eats the pickle and feels the urge for another sip. Boghos tells him:
– Payment first. What does the poor thing do?
– Heh. Steals.
– And what does the vigilant government eye do?
– Locks up the cat.
– They keep vigil for me. Hahaha.
As if there are no other thieves in town but the cat.)
