About the Book

The year is 1883. Amidst the harsh Icelandic winter landscape, we follow the priest Baldur Skuggason as he hunts a mysterious blue fox. But as soon as he pulls the trigger, we are swept away into the world of the realist Fridrik B. Fridriksson and his ward, Abba, a girl with Down syndrome. Fridrik had stumbled upon her rescue after she was found in 1868, tied to wooden posts inside a stranded ship. The destinies of the novel's characters are intrinsically intertwined, and gradually, in a surprising turn of events, it is revealed that this captivating tale is part fable, part mystery.

About the Author

Sjón was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 1962. He published his first collection at the age of sixteen. His subsequent works include poetry, novels, plays, and children's books.
