The novel follows a protagonist who discovers an explosive device on the ship he is sailing on, exiled from his homeland. He learns important and secret details about this device, at which point he himself transforms into a "bleeding package" of emotions and ideas. A conflict between good and evil rages within him: should he report the device and cause a tragedy for a man who brought back beautiful memories, or ignore it and be responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent people? Will he survive or become one of the victims? What will he do, how will he act, and what will the outcome be?
