Femininity... the mystery of spirit in manhood... and manhood is a forced calling of humanity, a seduction of childhood into playing a vague and harsh role. Manhood is the simplicity of clarity, following everything that happens on the surface, every correct notion spread for outward consumption. It is the illusion of importance, the headlines of the everyday, the broad outlines of everything, a continuous wear of the guise of strength, permanent residence on the surface, a full realization and saturation with the simple and the illusion of power.
Manhood is sheer dryness, an absolute thirst for tenderness, the roughness of form, blindness to details, a hurried hubris, an absurd achievement, an existential and total terror; either you are a man or you are not, an unconscious drift into playing a role that is not demanded. It is a mere delusion racing itself to reach the end of a lie that no one uncovers. An emptiness capable of absorbing everything thrown into it.
Manhood is a concept summoned at certain times to pass some foolishness faced with human opposition. It is a desert of thirst and need, with arms gathering the edges of the universe longing for the tiniest sprout of illusion that might lead to femininity, a creation thirsty, swallowing everything but never satiated. It is an absolute loss, a form searching for its lost spirit, knowing it hides somewhere within femininity; hence, all its things long for it, and it alone, without all the mighty ones of the earth, guides it wherever it wills, without effort, something within him led and leads it with a strange peace and without the slightest objection behind it.
Does that thing guiding him merge with something of femininity when it approaches? Abdel Salam Saleh, born in Al-Fara'a Camp - Nablus.
