Praise be to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, His forgiveness, and His guidance; He is the Giver and the Taker, and to Him all deeds return. Prayers and peace be upon the infallible, our master Muhammad, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him.

Arbitration has now become the ideal means for individuals—and even nations—to resolve disputes that may arise between them. Arbitration is also considered one of the most important topics addressed by private international law, being an unconventional way to settle commercial disputes. It not only resolves disputes alongside the state's judiciary but also competes with it in adjudicating disputes at both international and domestic levels.

From this perspective, numerous studies have dealt with arbitration, explaining its nature, objectives, oversight, and other related topics. This confirms the importance of arbitration as a means of dispute resolution after the world has moved towards globalization, where capital is no longer national except in the place that provides it with growth and increase. This naturally necessitates finding an alternative system to the judiciary that avoids the drawbacks of the traditional judicial system (namely delays, lengthy procedures, and costs).

It has come to my attention that despite the wealth of research and studies on arbitration, they have not addressed a very important topic, which is the role of the arbitrator in evidence, a subject that falls within the general scope of evidence in arbitration.

Therefore, in this book, I have sought to clarify the scope of the arbitrator's authority in evidence before arbitration tribunals. This is done through a comparative presentation of national and international legal texts, regulations of international arbitration centers, bodies, institutions, chambers, and courts, as well as local and international arbitration awards, blending them with jurisprudential opinions on the matter.
