Weapon stockpiling in our region began after the era known as national liberation, often followed in many parts of the world by development and industrial, agricultural, and social progress. This has not been witnessed in our countries, with many blaming the war and the 'threats facing the nation.' Was this a reality or empty slogans aimed at suppressing popular movements demanding achievements in economic, social, and unity aspects, while using the military buildup as a shield under the guise of defending the nation's causes and fate? The book raises several questions: Where did these arms deals originate? What are their details? Which countries benefit from them? How is their military quality? What are their conditions? Were they suitable for defending the 'nation's causes' or merely to protect ruling authorities? Are these deals of expired equipment needing disposal? Did some countries send them in solidarity with our just causes or for their interests? Were we sold weapons kept from our enemies, or were we given defensive arms while our adversaries received deadlier offensive ones?
