Al-Masikh ad-Dajjal (The Antichrist) is a book by the renowned Egyptian author Mostafa Mahmoud. In this book, the author, in his characteristically engaging and simple style, narrates a short novel in the first half, named after the book itself. The story follows the Antichrist on his journey to Hell after being slain by the Prophet Jesus. On this journey, the Antichrist meets Iblis (Satan) himself and converses with him, then encounters tyrannical rulers like Stalin and others, contemplating their conditions in Hell. He also meets some Arab leaders, such as Gamal Abdel Nasser, and attempts to narrate and explain the story of humanity and its susceptibility to worldly trials. The book's introduction clarifies that it is a work of art and fiction, not a reflection of reality, into which the author has infused his opinions and philosophy. Ultimately, it is a call to goodness, learning lessons, and heeding advice, without claiming knowledge of the unseen. In the second part of the book, he presents 'Tales of the Wise Man,' which includes several stories offering many lessons, morals, and benefits, such as 'The Truth Hunter,' 'The Central Bank,' and 'Simplifying Matters.'
