This book is considered a sequel to another work by the author, "Ta'wil Mushkil Al-Quran," and is one of the oldest and most reliable books on the unusual words of the Quran. It is regarded as a cornerstone among books of 'Gharib Al-Quran' due to the eminence of its author and the clarity of its language. Most scholars who came after Ibn Qutaybah relied on his book, summarized it, and benefited from it. He introduced the explanation of unusual words within the chapters by first explaining frequently recurring phrases in the Quran, such as the Beautiful Names of Allah and other repeated expressions, before proceeding to explain the unusual words according to the order of the chapters.
