Tafsir al-Baydawi, titled "Anwar al-Tanzil wa Asrar al-Ta'wil" (The Lights of Revelation and the Secrets of Interpretation), is one of the most important exegeses widely accepted by the Sunni community. Consequently, it has been a subject of great interest, explanation, and teaching in religious institutes from the farthest reaches of India to Morocco for several centuries, notably at Al-Azhar in Egypt and Zaytuna in Tunisia. It is considered one of the most famous and comprehensive books of tafsir, known for its concise yet clear expression, ease of use, and summarization. It is regarded as a foundational work of tafsir bi al-ra'y (exegesis by opinion) among Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah.
