Over more than three decades, semiotics in Morocco has achieved significant accumulations and leaps in both quantity and performance. This is thanks to the efforts of Moroccan researchers from different generations who have played a crucial role in renewing and developing semiotic research to study various semantic systems like poetry, novels, advertising, and cinema, understanding their structural formations and cultural functions.

The book's coordinators compiled the proceedings of a symposium celebrating the critical work of Dr. Mohammed Dahhi following his win of the Sheikh Zayed International Book Award, also including articles and interviews from writers across the Arab world. This collection comprehensively covers the project of 'subjective semiotics,' whose foundations were laid by Herman Parret and Jean-Claude Coquet. It demonstrates its suitability for analyzing personal literature, clarifying the author's position, and identifying hybrid texts that defy traditional genre classification.
