About the book:
My familiarity with the straight road made my task easier, but the harsh surprise came when my vision was completely obscured. I began to drive slowly, hoping other cars would avoid our bus which, as usual, was carrying strangers. The passengers, however, seemed to have surrendered their fate to me, turning to loud conversations filled with contentment, curiosity, and fun. It never occurred to any of them to offer help, perhaps believing our buses were always this way or trusting in my driving prowess. But my anxiety quickly grew, especially when it seemed the bus's enormous wheels were starting to crush something in their path.
