The Squier Sonic Tele MN Black electric guitar features a poplar body with a bolt-on maple neck. The fingerboard, also made of maple, includes black dot inlays and has a scale length of 648 mm (25.5″). It has a fretboard radius of 241 mm (9.5″) and a nut width of 42 mm (1.650″), with 21 narrow tall frets.

Equipped with two ceramic single-coil pickups, it also comes with master volume and tone controls. The guitar includes a single-layer white pickguard and a 6-saddle top-load Tele bridge with block saddles. It is fitted with enclosed die-cast tuners and chrome hardware, all in a black finish.
