Commentary on Mukhtasar al-Quduri
It is known that after the era of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), many scholars arose and diligently worked to extract legal issues and religious rulings, deducing them from their primary and authoritative sources. They exerted their utmost effort to achieve this noble goal. Among them was the great Imam Nu'man ibn Thabit al-Kufi, who codified and organized jurisprudence (fiqh), establishing and clarifying its rulings. Prominent imams graduated under him, such as Imam Yusuf al-Qadi and Imam Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Shaybani, and other great jurists. After them, the jurists of the school of thought continued to arrange and coordinate the issues. Among them was Imam Abu al-Husayn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ja'far ibn Hamdan al-Baghdadi al-Quduri, who authored a book on jurisprudential issues he named "al-Kitab," which became famous among scholars and students of religious institutes, especially in India, Pakistan, and Islamic Iran, as "Mukhtasar al-Quduri."
This summary is considered one of the most comprehensive, famous, and widely circulated books of jurisprudence since its author's lifetime. It is distinguished from others by its concise and comprehensive jurisprudential style. Among its commentaries is a gloss by Sheikh Ghulam Mustafa al-Sindi al-Qasimi, a contemporary verifying jurist, who excelled and provided great benefit. He wrote an introduction for it that is considered a treasure trove of rare gems and beautiful insights, unique in its kind, containing the fruit of rich studies. With this introduction, he filled a necessary void, providing the greatest service to the book.
