This collection comprises letters and lectures by the scholar Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Umar Al-Shatiri, may Allah have mercy on him, compiled by a devoted student who organized them into a cohesive arrangement that delights the viewer. This effort saved these precious works from being lost or neglected, allowing the nation to benefit from their rich content and to be credited to their author's record. Al-Shatiri was an exceptional teacher and mentor, a supervisory educator, the director of education, and an excellent critic, journalist, and social reformer. These letters and lectures stand as testament to his diverse talents. The first letter, 'Remedy for the Ailing,' is an account of the Prophet's life penned from start to finish using unpointed letters, showcasing his mastery and deep understanding of language sciences. Following this is a letter titled: 'How Are We?' which discusses Hadramaut's conditions and issues, succeeded by lessons in monotheism and creed in simple, accessible language. He then transitions to a valuable lecture discussing 'Hadramaut Scholars and Politics.' Moving on, he addresses the topic of 'Ramadan: The Month of Two Struggles,' focusing on personal and external struggles, highlighting the Ramadan School. Next is a lecture titled 'How to Achieve True Progress?' in which he details the means and obstacles to progress. This is followed by a lecture on the 'Biography of the Forefathers from the Alawi Hashemites,' then a study of the migration undertaken by the people of South Yemen, followed by a letter affirming the Prophet's descendants' lineage, responding to Sheikh Tantawi. He also addresses objections found in the book 'The Precious Pearl,' explains the matter of everything's shadow being like it and slightly more, and responds to questions from Taif in a reply letter. He concludes these letters and lectures with advice and a gift to Hadrami women, underscoring essential points. This is just a glimpse of this Imam's greatness, may the Sovereign and All-Knowing have mercy on him and benefit Islam's people through his knowledge.
