I was born in the distant Dagestan, in a small village. During my childhood, I used to fight with my peers to defend my family's honor. As I grew, I fought for my village, then for my republic of Dagestan, and eventually for my entire great country. Today, I feel accountable for the entire planet, for the fate of every human being, and for all mankind. Today, none of us should hide in our shell because my village and the entire world have become a single, inseparable unit. It is said that there must be a hearth at the center of the world to spread its light and warmth to all corners of the earth, no matter how remote. Although we may be unable to alter the sun's position, we can ignite this hearth with the light and warmth of poetry and music, making the fruits of our art a shared focus of our care. This hearth must burn forever, remaining at the center of the world amidst all events, storms, movements, and conflicts.
