This book is an attempt to present a number of topics that special education teachers should be familiar with, which can be employed in teaching science to various special needs groups, not just one specific category. The book includes six chapters: Chapter One focuses on science and related topics (its nature, objectives, characteristics, and processes). Chapter Two addresses the fields of special education and models and areas of curricula for special education. Chapter Three covers the category of individuals with intellectual disabilities and presents a number of teaching strategies and approaches suitable for them. Chapter Four deals with individuals with hearing impairments, the foundations of planning and building curricula for them, contemporary trends in their construction, as well as educational aids used in teaching in general and for the hearing impaired in particular. Chapter Five discusses the category of the gifted and presents a number of teaching strategies that develop their potential, increase their creativity, and align with their capabilities. Finally, Chapter Six addresses individuals with learning disabilities, the adaptation of curricula for them, and the resource room, concluding with a future outlook for supporting this group.
