Science and Its Facts: Between the Integrity of the Holy Quran and the Errors of the Torah and the Gospel. The discourse on issues of natural science and religious faith is considered one of the most contentious debates in the global intellectual arena, due to the conflict between the church and proponents of atheistic and non-religious doctrines in the West since the 19th century. This conflict has cast its dark shadow over the Arab cultural atmosphere since the first half of the 20th century. Today, this conflict is being revived in the Arab world with the rise of what is known as 'New Atheism,' which uses natural science as a banner for its call to exclude religion from human consciousness. Furthermore, Christian missionaries in both the Arab and Western worlds are keen to challenge the divinity of the Quran in printed books and online media, citing alleged contradictions between scientific discoveries and the Quran's definitive verses. They have also presented extensive missionary material to deny the conflict between the Bible and science and to prove the scientific miracles of the Bible, especially in English. In this book, we discuss these claims concerning the relationship of the Quran and the Bible with scientific facts, by tracing the texts of both books in their original languages. This is to clarify to the reader which of the two books is more deserving of infallibility and divinity, avoiding affectation and empty rhetoric, while adhering to the integrity of explicit research into the texts—linguistically and semantically. We renew the examination of this topic with an expansion not seen in the Islamic library since the work of Maurice Bucaille in the 1970s.
