Summary
The Saudi students Saad and Muneer embark on a study trip to America, marking the start of their overseas journey. They meet numerous Saudi scholarship students: Hanan, who has an online romance with Muneer; Gharib, a philosopher with unusual ideas; and Ahlam, accompanied by her brother Rabah as a chaperone, who spends his nights in clubs and bars. While Scarlett, the American, assists Muneer with learning English, he introduces her to Islam and Palestine. The Saudi students, leaving with bewildered looks and awkward smiles, are unaware that upon their return, they will have changed and might face an even harsher alienation. Ouda Al-Huwaiti is a Saudi writer and storyteller with a Master's degree in Special Education from the United States. He contributes to various electronic newspapers and magazines in Saudi Arabia and the U.S.
