About the Author:

Najdat Fathi Safwat (1923 – 2013) was an Iraqi diplomat and writer. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Baghdad and continued his studies at the University of London. He has hundreds of articles and studies in various Arab newspapers and magazines in Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, and Britain. He wrote the column "This Day in History" in Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper daily for five years. Dar Al Saqi published his works "Diplomatic Tales" and "The Arabian Peninsula in British Documents" in its seven parts.
